As you can see, we have been very busy. We have been working on painting the entire downstairs! The only thing we have left to do is the downstairs bathroom, and the stairwell wall, which goes all the way to the ceiling upstairs. That's a project for another day, I guess. I will be painting the downstairs bathroom one of these days. Here are the "after" pictures. Unfortunately, I don't have any before pictures. Oh well...everything was just plain white. Now that the paint is up, I just need to start collecting some accessories to complete the look I'm going for! That's the fun part!

Living Room

We picked out this really cool color we both really liked! (Or so we thought...it looked great on the sample card) When we got home, we started painting. We painted the wall you see above with the window, the wall with the front door, and all down the hallway into the kitchen. As soon as we started painting, we weren't sure about it, but we decided to just go with it. The more we got covered the less we liked it. By the time we got the hallway painted it felt like we were inside a pumpkin. Then, we got the red/orange paint up in the front room, it felt like there was a ketchup and mustard fight in our living room! We painted over the hallway with a neutral beige color. And for the front room, I took a light Tuscan creamy yellow, watered it down and wiped in on the wall with a rag...over the disgusting pumpkin orange color. It now looks more like I was wanting to look like! We also tried about 5 different curtains for the family room. And moved the original curtains from the living room to the dining room. I bought new ones for the living room to tone down the yellow/red a little (they're the curtains I wanted for that room originally). Now I'm very happy with the way it looks!!!

It was a pretty busy weekend here at the Maybon House! We had Baylie over to help with the kids so we could accomplish everything we needed to do. Couldn't have done it without her!!! Thanks Baylie! On Friday, after work, we got our costumes on and headed over to our wonderful, hilarious friends house, for a Halloween party. TONS of fun. We were The Phantom of the Opera and Christine. We looked pretty authentic if I do say so myself!...all except for the hair I PAINTED on Kyles head. Hehee! The food was good, and lots of fun games.

The next day,( HALLOWEEN!!! ) we had an early morning soccer game...the last one of the season. Afterward was a BBQ. I stayed home from the soccer game so I could cook, but met Chloee and Kyle at the party and left the kids home with Baylie. The BSU game started at 1:00 and we were expecting my family at that time. I made Home made Chili and cornbread, cinnamon cake, we had a vegetable tray, apple crisp, and I made a pumpkin pie from scratch!! I was in the kitchen all day, but I didn't mind...I love baking!!! Our kitchen is linked to the dining room and family room, so I wasn't left out.

As soon as I was finished baking, I put on my costume. Kyle and I decided to dress as cave people. Chloee was Little Red Riding Hood, Anna was a Bumble Bee, and Dean was a Spider. Trick or Treating was Great! We have a tradition where we go visit Grammy and Papa so they can take pictures and give the kids a treat. Then we go Trick or Treating with my Sisters. We had so much fun all together!! We went back home afterward and played a little Beatles Rockband, but stopped because we all agreed it wasn't as cool as regular rockband. We played games, and watched a movie. My poor Mom and Dad weren't feeling well so they left before the movie. Overall, it was a good Halloween weekend!!
...I just realized there are NO pictures of me in this! What the heck! Maybe I'll re-dress up and take some pictures and then add them later...if I feel like it. Haha!!!

She's pretty good too, when she put her mind to it! Here's some pictures of our star player from this season!Just a note: These were taken before it got BLOODY COLD and the kids could actually handle sitting through the games!

Potty Training Update

Update on potty training!!
......I gave up....... No it's not like that...I don't give up that easily. After her relapse, I COULD NOT get her to cooperate! She peed and pooped EVERYWHERE BUT the toilet...just to get a rise out of me! She fought and kicked and screamed and I lost my temper and yelled...it was bad. Finally when we both were in tears and hugging... I talked to Kyle on the phone (balling and frustrated out of my MIND) and told him I COULDN'T do it anymore...he said we should take a break (from potty training) for about a month and try again. He doesn't think she's ready, and neither do I. He said it's starting to become more of a bad experience (for both Anna and I), than a bonding\happy one. So at about 4:00 yesterday, I put a Diaper on her and we've been at peace ever since!! Why is Potty Training easy for so many people?????

For the last five days we have been doing nothing but POTTY TRAINING Anna. The first day, doesn't count. I had no idea what I was doing. Day two, I used a strategy my good friend Breanna shared with me. It worked SO well that first day, second day was a little better, day three...she was perfect the first half of the day, then...she kind of relapsed. Day four was Sunday, and we had to put a diaper on her during Church, she kept having accidents!!! Yesterday I was on her like flies on garbage. It was an OK day. Lets see how today goes...(day six). At least every day she seems more focused on potty training. I just don't understand what the relapse was all about!?! She is one stubborn sun of a gun...but pretty darn cute too! I'll keep you posted!!

p.s. why is it that kids look SO CUTE when sitting on the toilet???

Field Trip to the Corn Maze

Chloee and her first grade class went to the Corn Maze last Thursday. Kyle got to go with her this year. They had tons of fun.
This is ALL corn! Can you Believe it? They let the kids play in it like a sand box!

Chloee and her little friend Naomi. She lives two houses down from us.
